Third Fridays
at Third Degree Glass Factory are HOT! We present a variety of glass activities and entertainment on the third Friday
of every month from 6 - 10 p.m.! This is a free, family friendly event. Stop in for a drink before dinner in The Loop or Central West End. Every Third Friday presents glassblowing and flameworking demonstrations, glass art by Third Degree artists for sale in the HotShop Gift Gallery, and art exhibits in the Third Degree East Gallery. Cash bar.
EAST GALLERY Exhibit Thru August 12:
Switchback Glass by Aaron Quigley. Quigley became glass- addicted in 2003 when he started blowing at Third Degree. Enabled by workshops and classes at Pilchuck Glass School and Corning Glass Museum, he became a Third Degree instructor and artist. He's refining a technique to twist canes of glass to create wavy patterns of color.
Mixed-Media Prints by Dale Shannon. With photo composites, ink, brush painting, airbrush, and photography, Shannon creates work with a beautiful ethereal quality that invites you to dream.

Only $20 to create a glass tile. Go to front desk to buy your turn to make fun keepsakes. Tiles must be picked up by the following week during business hours:

Wine Bottle to Glass Platter
Bring your fave wine bottle - labels removed - to August's Third Friday, between 7 - 9 p.m. and we’ll make it a glass platter. Just $10. Platters must be picked up by the following week during business hours:

6 - 10 p.m. Glassblowing demos.
6:30 - 9 p.m. Taste wines of Spain. A taste of Carmen's Spain by Marco Angeli of Bommarito Wines.
7 - 9 p.m. Make your glass tile keepsake or bring us your fave wine bottle (no labels) and we'll make it a platter. See details at right.
7 - 7:20 p.m. Sneak Peek Preview: Is Carmen really in love or is it her gypsy-bad-girl ways? Union Avenue Opera performers give us a preview of Bizet's Carmen. For the full performance order your tickets www.unionavenueopera.org.
8 p.m. Jazz - cool with Brazilian accent - by Valerie Tichacek Trio.
9 p.m. Fire performance by Pandora’s Matchbox- - weather permitting.
Third Degree East Gallery: Opening August 15
"Three Degrees of Spiral" features artist quilts and drawings by Gen Obata. Obata creates artistic quilts that are graphic and/or whimsical. He also draws, paints, photographs, crochets wearable art, and makes paper products. His whimsical work is inspired by Lilly, his cat muse. He is also a musician (guitarist) and plays with acoustic bands Raven Moon and City Folk.
